MINIMAL - final review

Hey guys! so this is the second week into studio 2a and its been quite fast paced with the first project -minimal due in the second week. awesome. i've been allocated to Batersea One along with 6 other peers with Richard Tucker as my Tutor who is also the Unit chair for studio.

For minimal, we had to firstly draw a section through the waterfront attrium. i did this with Chloe Piper, Rohan McCarthy and Aaron Poupard. For the rest of the project we had to design a sleeping and working enclosure for 1 person using 130 concrete blocks and 1 piece of structural plywood.

We had to make sure that our design was as minimal as possible, using up only the space you need for one person.

my design was quite simple, using only an oval shape and splitting it in half. one half for the working space and the other as a sleeping area ( i also elevated the floor to clearly distinct that you had to step up on the sleeping area.)

the actual review today was quite fun actually and richard wasn't as scary as i thought he would be. it was more like a group discussion than a review. Shown below are my two posters for minimal. Rich said, that next time, i should not put any writing on my posters, as he would not read them, everything is visual and that i had forgotten to expand my 3 idea concepts with a floorplan, elevation and section.
